Cubs eyeing Lowe

After failing to sign San Diego Padres pitcher Jake Peavy, the Cubs have now aimed their attention towards Derek Lowe.

Turns out, Lowe might be the more suitable pitcher for the Cubs.

Peavy has $63 million over four years remaining on his contract which will probably be similar to the offer Lowe will be recieving.

Other teams that have shown interest in Lowe include the Atlanta Braves, Boston Redsox, New York Mets, Philadelphia Phillies, Los Angeles Dodgers, and the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. The Phillies however may be done looking for pitching after recently signing Jamie Moyer, Chan Ho Park, and Raul Ibanez.
